The brief was to create a visual identity for the week-long festival BBC Radio Live in Blackpool.

The inspiration for the logo was the event’s iconic location and the instantly recognisable landscape featuring the Blackpool Tower and roller coasters on the Pleasure Beach.

Another influence was the multitude of neon lights that line the seafront. A neon effect makes up the basis of the typography in the logo and the graphic elements found throughout the event’s microsite.
